NFL 2025 season: Week six

Real-time updates includes text commentary of Sunday's games via multiple platforms, beginning with Denver Broncos v New York Jets in London (from 14:00 BST). Additionally, audio coverage can be heard through designated networks for a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).

It's week six of the NFL season , after last week's discussion about the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles being possible championship contenders, they both lost their unbeaten records.

Striking during those contests was the number of infractions each committed. The Eagles did so at crucial times meaning they kind of defeated themselves after leading by two touchdowns going into the fourth period versus the Denver Broncos, set to play in London this weekend.

But it was good to see how Denver quarterback Bo Nix was able to have that deficit and then direct three scoring drives on three possessions during the final period, securing the game by four points.

Denver boast the defensive player of the year in CB their star corner. They rank first in goal-line defense, while the Eagles are number one in red zone offence, and Denver won that contest.

They had effective strategies regarding disguised blitzes. They did not necessarily rushing extra pass rushers instead they might plug two LBs in the 'A' gap before withdrawing them and send a nickel from the outside.

At the start of the season, we said on a program how Denver might emerge as the current year's dark horses. They finished last season well then did a good job of building upon that.

Are the Denver Broncos this year's dark horses?

Recently acquired TE Evan Engram has excelled significantly while new running back JK Dobbins is a player the team trusts. He's currently 5th in the NFL in ground gains (402) as well as tied-fourth in rushing scores (four).

It's impressive how head coach Sean Payton has "RUSH!" prominently of his playcall sheet.

This demonstrates that the Broncos represent a squad aiming to prioritize the run, because you can achieve much off the back of that. It slows opposing rushes and keeps you in positive down and distances.

It's also helped QB Bo Nix, who came into the league as a first-round selection in the prior draft, passing for 29 touchdown passes – second only to Justin Herbert in rookie records (31 in 2020).

Other elite QBs possess the arm strength to throw all over, but they don't move the mobility as Nix. He boasts exceptional passing ability, a unique trait, and he is highly agile.

His assets include his mobility, being able to pass on the run, as well as using varied release points to make the pass when he rolls out of the pocket, on rollouts. He can deliver that layered pass across the middle and over the corner.

As a rookie QB, at 25, he displays a lot of poise in the pocket and isn't really fazed by the blitz. He tries to avoid a sack whenever possible and can pass under pressure. He possesses sharp intelligence and is very decisive.

When you consistently run the ball it consumes the clock and forces the opponent to stay on the field for longer, and when you've got a mobile QB the defence has to cover the field vertically side to side. It can be draining.

The quarterback has pushed back with the coach during games sometimes and it seems Payton likes that fire, seeing him as a fierce rival. In my view it's exciting for him to have a young quarterback that is similar to play-dough. The coach can truly build something up how he desires to shape him. I think it's a special experience for the coach.

Payton owns a championship and now surpassed Bill Parcells in all-time victories (173, tying for 14th). He has witnessed it all. In my opinion the achievements Denver are experiencing on offence is largely down to his leadership, his play-calling, his game sense – and the combination with Nix aids shape him what he is.

There's no better a more qualified person guiding you, to help you during some of the tougher situations and boost self-belief.

I have faith in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet is the team good enough to go against an elite team at its best? Because that was not a Super Bowl performance by the Eagles in their last game.

Right now, I don't think Denver are elite. They're performing above average, that's a solid position to hold their division. The key is to continue this trajectory.

They're really good at leaning into their forte, that is the ground game, and this is exactly what they should do versus the Jets at Tottenham. It's going to be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.

New York have surrendered 140 yards on the ground each contest (sixth worst), five rushing touchdowns so far (10th worst), and they are the sole squad without a win any game.

Ever since the NFL began tracking takeaways decades ago, this team are the first team to be without a single takeaway in five outings, this is surprising considering that the head coach Aaron Glenn defensive co-ordinator with another team.

Patrick Mahomes says Kansas City are off to a poor start after Monday's defeat to Jacksonville.

After the upcoming matchup, Denver have a smooth-ish schedule until their bye (in week twelve) - the Giants, the Cowboys, the Texans and Las Vegas Raiders before the Kansas City Chiefs.

In their division, Kansas City hold a losing record while Denver are tied with the Chargers on 3-2 meaning they could make a run for the top of the West.

It depends upon which form Kansas City shows up they meet since the Broncos {beat|def
