The British government is prepared to move forward with using the total value of frozen Russia's funds to bolster the Ukrainian military campaign, PM Sir Keir Starmer has declared.

In a shared declaration, the leaders of the United Kingdom, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany emphasized that this unified step would heighten pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin and urge Russia to participate in talks.

They further noted that the move would be carried out in strong partnership with the America.

British restrictions have frozen over £25bn of Russia's assets since Russia began its widespread offensive against Ukraine in 2022. But, up to this point, money sent to the Ukrainian government using Russian assets had exclusively been sourced from gains and dividends earned on them.

Sir Keir told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, France, and Germany were united in their desire to drive progress toward utilizing the full value of the immobilized Russian sovereign holdings to end the war.

He noted that additional restrictions in the coming days and weeks would apply more pressure on Moscow.

This announcement follows European representatives convened in the Danish capital last week to debate employing frozen Russian holdings for a 140-billion-euro credit to the Ukrainian nation.

Recently, American leader Donald Trump called on Group of Seven partners to take or employ frozen Russia's holdings, based on reports.

The value of frozen Russia's funds in the Europe is estimated to be almost €211bn.

The Russian government executed widespread bombardments all over Ukraine on that day, leading to electricity outages in significant regions of the capital city, the city, and multiple additional areas.

Two people were killed and a minimum of 20 people were hurt in the strike, Ukrainian officials said.

In a post on an online platform subsequent to the incident, Zelensky commented that the strategic strike focused on non-military and power facilities.

"What is required is not mere statements but concrete steps - from the US, EU, and the seven nations - in supplying anti-aircraft weapons and applying sanctions," he emphasized.

"Each restrictive measure diminishes Russia's war machine," Zelensky wrote, in a different message.

Also on Friday, Zelensky told media outlets he would press Sir Keir to participate in the PURL scheme, under which partner nations acquire arms from the America to provide to the Ukrainian forces.

While praising the Britain's strong support for Kyiv, he said it should indicate firmly that it would take part in the program, as well as impose more sanctions on Russia.
