Football Expert Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions

The Gunners' 10-game winning streak came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the global break, however can the English top division leaders bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still manage to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus AI, fans and a variety of guests.

In the twelfth round, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

Murs' new record, the new release, is out on the weekend.

Soccer and Parenting Experiences

Olly is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful singer and has been a star of several Soccer Aid games down the years - but he is not intending a serious return as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a benefit game the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "The side was losing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I still love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my daughter or son decides to play instead."

The singer and his wife his partner have a young family, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.

"I will not push football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be managing their weekend soccer team," he added.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly was involved with a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He managed our side for two or three seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Top Division Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer for their star's return from fitness issues but their attack is now stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this fixture will be fairly close, however. Burnley are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

It smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am actually going to go with the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

Olly's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their previous couple games - although both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, the Hammers secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they appear competitive again.

The Hammers' sole away win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno was still that team's manager.

Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - can West Ham extending their streak under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?

I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I think what occurred against Villa was a blip.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

Olly's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign began, but they have surprised a several people under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four games.

A family member advised me to select Brentford striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

Thiago will probably score again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or support Brentford at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had much fortune on the road this season, and Brighton are consistently decent at home. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's side pose much more of a danger.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

Olly's prediction: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it actually proves to be quite close. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive fixture for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.

They have have lots of talent in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.

Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.

Their display in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We've not seen any other team disrupt the Gunners like that this term, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are obviously capable of disrupting the hosts up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the close of October.

However I am not choose that. Instead, I truly need to carry on opposing the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their positive results because they evidently love to prove me wrong.

Considering the home side's home form, the sole team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be absolutely eager for a good result, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

The guest's choice: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a bad run... but Fulham have nonetheless been respectable at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough one to predict. The Reds have suffered seven of their past 10 games in every tournament, but might they be one of the teams who profit from the {international break|
